Themed calls

The fund prioritises applications from organisations looking to become contract ready to support specific Government policy areas or investment ready to help access new funds coming into the social investment market.

The fund is currently not accepting applications for grants or providers and further updates will be provided in the coming months.

Health and social care

From 3 July 2014, only health and social care organisations can apply for an ICRF grant.

We are interested in supporting new opportunities emerging locally through the 3.8bn Better Care Fund. The intention of the fund is to reduce pressure on social care and hospitals by providing intervention before a crisis.

We will also fund bids from ventures seeking other opportunities across the health and social care sectors, as long as there is a market opportunity to raise investment or win contracts. We are particularly interested in organisations providing preventative services that minimise long-term costs to the health service.

Health and social care organisations can apply for an ICRF grant to win public service contracts valued at 500,000 or more or to secure investment of 500,000 or more.

Arts

Social ventures that work in the arts sector, have a commercial model, and are committed to report on their artistic and social impacts are welcome to apply for an investment readiness grant. Applicants should be looking to raise investment of over 500,000 over the next 12 months.

To apply, social ventures will be required to partner with one of the approved providers of support on the Investment and Contract Readiness Fund.

Applications must reach us before 4pm on Tuesday 14 January 2014. There might be opportunities to apply after that date. Please do speak to the team if you are unable to meet that deadline.

Information about the new Arts Ventures Fund is available on the Investing for Good site.

Mutuals

Ambitious mutuals that have already spun out and are looking to take on private investment or win public service contracts valued at 500,000 or more can apply for grants up to 150,000. There are already over 70 mutuals which have spun out but still deliver public services up from 9 in 2010 with 60 more also in the pipeline.

With an emphasis on access to new financing opportunities from social investors, the contract readiness support offered by the Fund will complement the professional expertise and advice currently offered by the Mutuals Support Programme to promising mutuals in the process of spinning out.

Mutuals are defined as organisations which have spun-out of the public sector but continue to deliver public services with a high degree of employee control.
